MIDSUMMER MUSIC PRESENTED BY THE NORTH COAST ASSOCIATION
A mixed programme of light classical music, selected specially with Midsummer in mind.
- Booking essential
The Midsummer Concerts return to Mussenden Temple with a mixed programme of light classical music, selected specially with Midsummer in mind. In its continuing support of the National Trust, the North Coast Association (a society of enthusiastic volunteers) will soon be promoting three delightful midsummer concerts of music during June, in the world-famous Mussenden Temple - built by Bishop Frederick Hervey at Downhill, in 1785. The Temple, which the Earl Bishop had constructed as his personal library, was ingeniously centrally-heated and perched dramatically on top of a steep,120 foot high cliff with panoramic views of the Atlantic ocean around and beneath. And as an atmospheric venue in which to promote chamber music, it can't be rivalled anywhere on the North Coast. The view from the rear windows of the building alone is a simply breath taking gaze down onto the rocks and the crashing waves below.
Soloists: Charlotte O'Hare (soprano) and Glenn Tweedie (tenor), Cheryl McCay ('cello) and Peter Wilson (accompanist)
