Family Fun at Moseley Old Hall

Whether you want to discover what life would have been like in this 17th century farmhouse, put your culinary skills to the test in the mud kitchen, or climb to the top of our 3-storey treehide there is plenty here at Moseley Old Hall to keep your family entertained.

Inside the Hall

Keep your little ones entertained as you walk around the Hall by following the sheep trail. Mr Whitgreave has lost his sheep - little does he know they’ve hidden themselves in the hall! Can you spot all seven on your journey around the house?

On selected days you will be able to visit our costumed room guides, discover gruesome 17th century medicines or join in with traditonal parlour games.

Feeling adventurous?

There is plenty to do around our outdoor spaces to help you get to know nature.

With den building, the mud kitchen, our turf labyrinth and of course the tree hide there are lots of ways for you to enjoy the experiences offered by the great outdoors and go home feeling happy tired.

Top things to try from the ‘50 things to do before you’re 11¾’ list:

No. 1 Get to know a tree (hide)

Disappear from view in our secret tree hide, deep in the Kings Walk wood. Are you brave enough to climb to the top?

No. 9 Eat a picnic in the wild

You are welcome to picnic anywhere in our gardens; there are some lovely picnic tables in our farmyard, or why not find a spot in the meadow?
Our tearoom offers takeaway hot and cold drinks, snacks, cakes and bakes so don't worry if you forgot to pack a treat or two - we have you covered!

No. 13 Make a mud creation

In the woods there is a great mud pie making kitchen waiting for very creative cooks. There are no pots and pans but there is plenty of mud! Feel free to bring your own from home and cook up something extra tasty!

No. 18 Create some wild art

Let nature inspire you - why not make a frame using sticks then fill in your 'canvas' with natural materials you find on our woodland floor.

No. 31 Make friends with a bug

There are lots of bugs to find around Moseley. Why not lead your very own bug hunting expedition? Listen to what you can hear buzzing in the meadow and see what creepy crawlies you can discover in the woods.

We sometimes offer Ranger-led bug hunts through our meadow too so keep an eye on our What's On page for details of these!
