Eating and shopping at Wightwick

Within the historic buildings at Wightwick, you'll find the tea-room, shop and second-hand bookshop. Grab a bite to eat, or find the perfect souvenir as a memento of your visit.

The tea-room

Situated in the old garage and stables, the tea-room reflects the working side of the Wightwick estate as well as the Mander Brothers manufacturers. The tea-room serves a range of hot and cold drinks, snacks and light meals.

Food and drink

Do you have a sweet tooth? On offer are some great cakes, including decadent chocolate brownie or classic Victoria sandwich. And it wouldn't be the National Trust without scones or shortbread. In the summer, enjoy a freshly scooped ice-cream from our kiosk in the courtyard.

Most of the food and drink served is prepared on site in our kitchen, using a wide range of ingredients. As a result, we can’t guarantee that any of our food and drink products are completely allergen free.

If you have an allergy or intolerance and would like ingredient information about the food and drink served, please ask the staff, who will be happy to help.

Shop and plant centre

Facing away from the new Manor building, the grand old porch of the original Manor looks onto Wightwick Bank, the old cart track to Tettenhall from the canal. Inside is the shop and just outside is the plant centre.

Explore three separate rooms on the ground floor of the Old Manor, where you'll find National Trust products, as well as a unique room dedicated to Arts and Crafts products that reflect the individual character of the property.

Whether it’s environmentally friendly swaps for a more sustainable life, a gift for a loved one or an indulgence for yourself, every purchase helps to look after Wightwick, for everyone, for ever.

Arts and Crafts shop

The unique Morris Room offers further purchasing pleasures. The thoughtful use of Morris and Co designs to enhance these objects of delight, will bring back happy memories of your visit to the house and gallery.

The room proudly celebrates the philosophy of the Arts and Crafts movement with unique gifts crafted by British ceramic artists, including the popular De Morgan range.

Plant centre

The plant centre, located just outside the shop, is laid out to emulate the character of the Thomas Mawson-designed gardens at Wightwick.

The seasonal plant selection is sourced locally, and where possible reflects the plants growing in the grounds. There's also a selection of terracotta pots, which are great for patios and statement container planting.

Don’t forget to visit the gardening range inside, which provides practical and whimsical additions for the garden.

Second-hand bookshop

You can find the second-hand bookshop in the old apple store – the perfect place to find your next great read.

Donating books

Donations to the bookshop are welcome and help to keep the shelves stocked. By donating you're helping support the vital conservation work at Wightwick.

Both hardback and paperback books are welcome, fiction or non-fiction. Old maps and guidebooks are also very popular, however many technical publications date quickly, so sit unloved on the shelves.

The same is true of magazines or readers digest, which are best recycled rather than donated.
