About Mose Barn

Mose Barn is in a quiet, remote hamlet in the heart of the Shropshire countryside, close to the Dudmaston Estate with its acres of walking trails. Built from traditional Shropshire stone, sandstone and timbers, the barn brings together a root house, granary and a series of cowsheds from the mid-19th century.

On the ground floor, you’ll find an open-plan sitting and dining room featuring exposed beams and trusses, and a wall of bi-fold doors set between original brick pillars. Double doors lead to a modern kitchen with an original clay-tiled floor. There’s also a generous snug with soft lighting and comfortable places to relax; you can even watch a live stream from the barn owl box located on the exterior wall of one of the upstairs bedrooms. Steps down from the snug take you to a ground floor bathroom and twin bedroom. On the first floor, there are two double bedrooms, each with a shower room.

Outside, there’s a covered dining area as well as an enclosed garden with countryside views.

The Dudmaston Estate has acres of pristine parkland, sweeping gardens and a grand hall dating back almost 900 years.  Comer wood is a walk away, or you could hop on a bike to explore the mountain bike trails. The varied habitat of Dudmaston encourages an abundance of different wildlife, from its resident birds to water voles, otters and dragonflies.

Within the local area there’s plenty to keep everyone entertained from shops, pubs and restaurants to more adventurous activities including quad biking, paint balling, golf and fishing. Further afield, you can visit the town of Kidderminister, 10 miles away, or Telford and Wolverhampton which are 16 miles away. With the Shropshire Hills on your doorstep, walkers are very well catered for as you can choose one of the many walking routes that scour this magnificent Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty.
