Restoration and rejuvenation

With its spiralling turrets and gothic façade, Tyntesfield is a magical place. Once home to four generations of the Gibbs family, the house has changed little since its Victorian hey-day.

Saved for the nation in 2002, this spectacular Victorian house and garden is now being restored in public view. Witness specialist craftsmen at work, climb the viewing tower to see the roof repairs and go inside the house to discover a time capsule - brimming with fascinating and unusual objects, such as delicate vibrantly colourful porcelain and heated billiard table.

Outside, relax in the formal gardens, explore the extensive woodland pathways and take home fresh produce from the Kitchen Garden.
